ABOUT HUMG

Since its establishment in 1966, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG) has been a pioneering role towards education in geology, mining, surveying and mapping, oil and gas exploration and exploitation in Vietnam. One of the most important focus in achieving its goals comes through international and domestic collaborations and partnerships. In the past, the university has close relations with the universities and institutions in the former Soviet Union and Eastern European countries. More than a half of the university’s academic staff had studied in these countries. Most of them pursued postgraduate education and currently are professors, senior lectures and senior researchers in the university.

In more recent years, several new majors have been added to the university education programs such as geo-environment, software engineering, applied information technology in surveying, economics, mining and geology, accounting, business administration, etc. Hanoi campus will be extended and designed to comply with the facilities of an advanced and modernized university.

ABOUT OCU

Osaka City University (OCU) is composed of eight faculties and ten graduate schools. OCU traces its beginnings to the 1880 founding of Osaka Commercial Training Institute, the center of commercial and industrial study in Osaka. The Institute was renamed as it developed and grew, becoming Osaka City Commercial School (1889), Osaka City Commercial College (1901), Osaka University of Commerce (1928), and finally Osaka City University in 1949. In April 2006, Osaka City University was reconstituted as a public university corporation.

In establishing OCU as Japan's first municipal university, Dr. Hajime Seki, mayor of Osaka, set forth a distinctive vision. The new university should not be an imitation of the national universities; it should serve the needs of the citizens; it should conduct original research on the culture, economy, and society of the city of Osaka and communicate the results to the people of the city. Throughout its 70-year history, Osaka City University has faithfully adhered to this founding vision by making urban issues one of its central concerns.

Call for Sponsors, Exhibitors and Advertisers

The conference registration fee has been kept low to encourage widespread participation. This is important in particular for applicants from less well-endowed countries, private individuals and students. Special efforts will be made during the conference to foster technology transfer to developing countries especially in the Southeast Asian region. Sponsors can provide funds to cover general conference expenses or provide much needed travel grants and support waiver of registration fee for deserving applicants. To become a sponsor, exhibitor or advertiser, please
